Thank you Doug Ware!

I would like to thank Doug Ware for his assistance in preparing some of the materials used in this course, especially concerning green businesses. Doug Ware was Director of International Service and Subsidiary Operations for Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation until he retired in 2003. He now consults for the non-profit group SCORE, where he has been elected as the Orlando Chapter Chair for fiscal year 2010 and 2011.

You can learn more about SCORE at www.score.org and www.scoreorlando.org. SCORE is a non-profit group of over 11,000 volunteers across America that provides free and confidential advice to America's small businesses. They are a resource partner to the US Small Business Administration.

SCORE is organized into 389 chapters nationwide. The Orlando chapter has 50 volunteers who come from corporations, small businesses and academia. One thing they all have in common is a desire to give back to the community and help entrepreneurs succeed in their business ventures.

They provide both face to face counseling and also e-mail counseling through the web sites. The web sites also provide pertinent and in depth information on many business topics. In addition to counseling, the Orlando chapter offers a number of low cost seminars and workshops that cover a broad spectrum of business fundamentals including processes involved in starting a business, developing a business and marketing plan and financial aspects. SCORE only deals with US based business but this includes businesses that import and export internationally.
